Producer – Château Beauregard
Château Beauregard is a historic Pomerol estate on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Its history stretches back to the 12th century, while today the property belongs to the Moulin and Cathiard families, who acquired it in 2014 and invested heavily in both the vineyard and cellar.
The château has 17.5 hectares of vines on the south-eastern edge of the Pomerol plateau. Moreover, the vineyard has followed organic methods for more than a decade. Its clay and gravel soils help create wines with freshness, depth and the silky texture associated with fine Pomerol.
Benjamin de Beauregard 2022 – Pomerol
Benjamin de Beauregard 2022 is the second wine of Château Beauregard. The estate selects its fruit from parcels with lighter, sandier soils and adapts the winemaking to create a wine that becomes approachable earlier than the Grand Vin.
Moreover, the winery uses gentler extraction and shorter vatting. As a result, Benjamin de Beauregard keeps the depth of Pomerol while offering a softer, fruit-driven and more accessible style. The château intends the wine to provide pleasure between roughly 3 and 10 years of age.
Grape Varieties
The 2022 blend is:
- 90% Merlot
- 10% Cabernet Franc
Merlot provides ripe black fruit, body and a creamy texture. Meanwhile, Cabernet Franc brings freshness, floral character and extra structure.
Vinification & Maturation
The winery uses modern, temperature-controlled truncated-cone concrete vats. Furthermore, Château Beauregard favours moderate extraction for Benjamin de Beauregard, helping preserve freshness and smooth tannins.
Maturation
- 14 months ageing
- French oak barrels
- 20% new oak
- 500-litre oak casks
- Terracotta jars also used for part of the maturation
This mixed approach allows the wine to gain depth without becoming dominated by oak. Therefore, the ripe Merlot fruit remains clear and expressive.
Tasting Notes
- Colour: Deep ruby with purple reflections

Style and Character
