Château Phélan Ségur is a wine estate in the Saint-Estèphe region of the Medoc, northern Bordeaux. The grand vin is typically composed of 50 to 65 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder made up from Merlot. It is regarded as one of the better estates omitted from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. It belongs to the Union des Grand Crus de Bordeaux, and is classified in the Place de Bordeaux in the category of “Grand Crus Classés et assimilés (and equivalents)”.
The second wine, Frank Phélan, was created in 1986 and named after the son of the founder of the estate. It is sourced from around 15-hectares (37-acres) of old and young vines throughout the property.
