Producer – Celler Avgvstvs Forvm
Founded in 1983, Celler Avgvstvs Forvm is located in the heart of the Penedès region of Catalonia, just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. The estate is named after the ancient Via Augusta, the Roman road that once crossed the property. Today, the winery is recognised for producing premium wines and gourmet wine vinegars while following a philosophy of low yields, sustainable viticulture and meticulous craftsmanship.
The Trajanvs range represents the estate’s flagship red wine, produced only from the finest parcels and designed to showcase elegance, complexity and exceptional ageing potential.
Avgvstvs Trajanvs 2017 – The Flagship Red of the Estate
The Avgvstvs Trajanvs 2017 is a refined Mediterranean red wine that combines Bordeaux varieties with Tempranillo to create a wine of depth, structure and remarkable balance. Carefully selected fruit, long oak ageing and extended bottle maturation result in a wine that is powerful yet elegant.
Why Choose Avgvstvs Trajanvs 2017
The grapes are harvested by hand from low-yielding estate vineyards located close to the Mediterranean coast. Furthermore, each grape variety is vinified separately before the final blend is assembled, allowing every component to contribute its own character.
The wine then spends an extended period ageing in French oak barrels before further bottle maturation. As a result, it develops silky tannins, refined complexity and excellent ageing potential.
Grape varieties:
- 35.2% Cabernet Franc
- 32.4% Merlot
- 16.5% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 16.5% Tempranillo
Maturation:
Approximately 24 months in 300-litre French oak barrels, followed by extended bottle ageing before release to enhance balance, texture and complexity.
