Wine making process
Harvest is made at night by hand in boxes of 26 lb. Bunches are selected in each vine in the vineyard. The Fermentation is done in stainless steel with daily pumps up. The aging is made in new and second year French oak barrels with a refining time in the bottle before leaving the cellar.
Terroir
This wine is the result of the mix of three of our best states: El Barranco, the oldest Graciano vineyard in the entire Rioja DOCa planted in 1940, located in San Adrián on a sandy soil with pebbles at an altitude of 1312 ft. Los Molinos is the other Graciano variety vineyard with 17 acres of heavy calcareous clay soil planted at 1476 ft altitude and with more than 20 years old. José León gives name to the vineyard of Tempranillo variety, of 12 acres and 25 years old of antiquity with calcareous sand soil, but with greater influence of sand at 1247 ft of altitude.
