Producer – Vignobles Cardarelli
Château Pierron belongs to the Cardarelli family, whose wine story began in 1949 with Caterina and Gino Cardarelli. Today, the family is in its fourth generation of wine production in Bordeaux.
The family has continued to grow and modernise its vineyards while keeping a strong link with its history. Moreover, Château Pierron comes from an estate certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE).

Château Pierron Moelleux 2023 – Sweet White Bordeaux
The Château Pierron Moelleux 2023 is a sweet white wine from the Bordeaux AOP. It combines classic Bordeaux white grapes to create a fruity, fresh and balanced style.
Moreover, its sweetness is balanced by light acidity. As a result, the wine feels round and generous without losing its refreshing character.
Grape Varieties
- Sémillon
- Muscadelle
- Sauvignon Blanc
Sémillon brings body and softness. Meanwhile, Muscadelle adds aromatic and floral notes. Sauvignon Blanc adds citrus character and freshness.
One current trade listing gives the blend as 70% Sémillon and 30% Muscadelle, while the 2023-specific listing also identifies Sauvignon Blanc. Therefore, I recommend not displaying percentages unless you have the 2023 technical sheet.
Maturation
The 2023 vintage matures in steel. Therefore, the winemaking focuses on preserving fresh fruit and clean aromas rather than adding oak character.
This approach suits the wine’s fresh and approachable style. In addition, the 2023 has an alcohol level of 11.5% ABV.
Tasting Notes
- Colour: Bright pale gold
- Aroma: Fresh citrus, ripe fruit and delicate floral notes
- Palate: Round and fruity with gentle sweetness and refreshing acidity
- Finish: Balanced and surprisingly long with lingering fresh fruit
The producer’s trade information describes the wine as highly aromatic and fruity, with citrus notes. Moreover, a touch of acidity keeps the palate fresh and balanced.
Food Pairings
The Château Pierron Moelleux 2023 pairs beautifully with:
- Foie gras
- Soft cheeses
- Blue cheese
- Fruit desserts
- Tarts
- Lightly spicy Asian dishes
In addition, it works very well as an aperitif. The producer recommends serving it between 8°C and 12°C.
Style and Character
The Château Pierron Moelleux 2023 offers a classic and approachable expression of sweet white Bordeaux. Moreover, Sémillon gives the wine body, while Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc add aroma and freshness.
In addition, steel maturation keeps the fruit bright and clean. As a result, the wine combines gentle sweetness with enough acidity to remain fresh.
Overall, Château Pierron Moelleux 2023 is an easy-drinking sweet Bordeaux that works equally well as an aperitif, with foie gras or alongside dessert.
