Winter was mild with a significant amount of rain. Spring was defined by low temperatures that were just above freezing. The vegetative cycle was initially delayed. May and June, made up for the delay with their great temperatures. Summer was hot and dry, and the vines were relieved on August 4th when the drought ended. Summer ended with perfect maturation of the grapes, and light rain mid-September. The harvesting weather was more than ideal from October 4-21.
Chateau La Tour Carnet 2016 has a beautiful garnet robe. The nose is initially fruity with fresh red fruits. After aeration, there are hints of jam and vanilla. The attack is full-bodied with extremely silky tannins. A powerful and elegant wine with a fantastic finish.
