Why Super Tuscans exist

They were born from rebellion. Producers who wanted to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot fell outside Chianti’s rules, so their wines were labelled as simple table wine – then went on to outsell and outscore the wines that excluded them. Today they sit among Italy’s most sought-after bottles.
