The Framingham estate was established by Rex Brooke-Taylor, an engineer from Wellington, in 1981. During the early years Rex collaborated with neighbouring wineries and used their winemaking facilities to get his boutique operation off the ground. Today the winery is known throughout New Zealand for their stunning, precise expressions of classic Marlborough wines like Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
The Nobody’s Hero Sauvignon Blanc was born out of winemaker Dr Andrew Hedley’s passion for the punk rock band Stiff Little Fingers. Made in a bright and fresh style, this classic Marlborough Sauvignon is crafted from fruit sourced from five different sites which are vinified separately. The must is fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the distinctive varietal character and Andrew Hedley then decides upon the final blend after extensive tasting and testing sessions.
The result is a delicious white which opens with evocative aromas of grapefruit, fresh herbs and nettles. The first sip reveals a vibrant freshness and intense aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and subtle hints of green bell pepper. The crisp and lively character of this wine make it ideal to enjoy as an aperitif or alongside dishes like moules frites, leafy green salads or roast chicken.
