The appellation area is located on the left bank of the Rhône, between Orange and Avignon, in Châteauneuf du Pape. This vintage is produced on plots located on the hillsides of places called “Les Grandes Gallières and le Tresquoy”.
The vines planted between 1980 and 1985 are located mainly on limestone soils with white pebbles from the Urgonian, essential for obtaining a beautiful minerality as well as brown soils and safres, for finesse and elegance.
GRAPES:
80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
CLIMATE
Mediterranean type with particularly hot summers. The mistral drives away humidity, thus ensuring very favorable conditions for growing vines.
VINTAGE
Plot selection over 10 hectares. It must be manual at optimal maturity, allowing selective sorting of the harvest. We attach a lot of importance to this qualitatively essential point.
WINEMAKING AND AGEING
Completely destemmed before being vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Vinification and vatting for a minimum of 21 days in vats with temperature control, load shedding then daily pumping over and stirring. Aging for 9 months in stainless steel tuns and vats. Light filtration before bottling
CONSUMPTION
Our wines can be enjoyed from the first year with a dominance of red fruit yogurts but they can be kept for 6 to 8 years depending on the vintage and storage conditions.
