Red Grenache 60%, Carinyena 30%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%. 12 months in French oak.
Vineyards are over 80 years, planted on narrow terraces in slate-based soils, at altitudes between 400 and 600 m. Average yield per vine is slightly less tan 1 kg.
Bottled unfiltered.
Alcohol content: 14,5 % vol.
Grenache of fresh fruit very intense with notes of candied fruit, Carinyena of black fruits such casis and candied fruits, and the touch of the Syrah spices, balsamic and forest fruits. In the aging of this wine appear aromas like chocolate and tobacco.
Therefore the result is a wine with primary aromas of fruit, candied fruits, balsamic and undergrowth. Fresh and lively in the mouth, balanced, unctuous, with sweet tannins.
Food pairing
Castell de Falset is a great wine with meat dishes, casseroles and roast beef as well as game dishes.
By decanting it an hour before serving and at a temperatura of 18°C this wine will fully display its aromatic register.
Castell de Falset is also a great wine for aging, which will evolve spectacularly.
