Rich and velvety with deep flavours of blackberry and chocolate, this wine combines the vanilla-like sweet spice of the oak with the brambly, rich, dark fruit. It is a versatile companion to most red meats and also excellent with cheese.
This wine is made by leading international winemaker, Xavier Roger, who is based in Carassone in the South of France. Xavier specialises in making modern ‘international’ styles of wine in France—wines that can be enjoyed with or without food. It is the limiting gravel soil and the naturally low yielding which are the perfect conditions of the Languedoc-Roussillon region for producing rich, concentrated, ripe grapes.
